Oxford Net Zero Showcase

On Wednesday 11 February we will host the Oxford Net Zero Showcase at the Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre, Worcester College. Our six Strategic Research Fund Fellows (Dr Jessica Omukuti, Dr Tom Kettlety, Kaya Axelsson, Dr Aline Soterroni, Dr Selam Kidane Abebe and Dr Stuart Jenkins) will present their cutting-edge research on carbon storage, nature, the fossil fuel sector, a fair transition in the Global South, and more. Professor Myles Allen, the founding Director of Oxford Net Zero, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Irene Tracey, will give opening remarks.

We will also have two panel discussions featuring Oxford Net Zero academics and senior University and climate leaders. The panellists will include Professor Gideon Henderson (Professor of Earth Sciences and former Defra Chief Scientific Advisor), Nigel Topping, CMG (Chair of the UK Climate Change Committee), Solitaire Townsend (Co-founder and Chief Solutionist at Futerra), Professor Heidi Johansen-Berg (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Strategic Initiatives), Dr Radhika Khosla (Research Director at the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development, Programme Leader in Zero Carbon Energy Use at Oxford’s ZERO Institute, and Oxford Net Zero Co-Investigator) and Alexis McGivern (Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Oxford Net Zero). Dr Steve Smith, Oxford Net Zero Executive Director, and Professor Sam Fankhauser, Oxford Net Zero Research Director, will chair the discussions.
