Kaya Axelsson named one of the UK’s 100 most impactful sustainability leaders

Mar 4, 2026

We’re delighted to announce that Kaya Axelsson, our Net Zero Policy Engagement Fellow, has been named by edie as one of the UK’s 100 most impactful sustainability leaders. Edie is a prominent UK business, media and publishing network that focuses on helping companies to become more sustainable. Kaya has been recognised for her work to drive positive social and environmental change, and will be honoured at the upcoming edie awards ceremony this month.

Reflecting on her inclusion in edie’s list, Kaya said:

“I was really touched to receive this nomination. Anyone who leads on impact in an academic setting knows you have to work to make ideas translate. My team has never bought the fantasy that good science would jump off a shelf and into action, not ever, but especially not now.”

If you’re interested in learning more about Kaya’s research, check out this video of her giving a talk on “The business of net zero” at our recent Oxford Net Zero Showcase.

Huge congratulations to Kaya and her team for their incredible work!
