Despite rapid growth in climate-related standards, targets, and disclosure frameworks, uncertainty remains over whether many transition plans are plausible, decision-useful, or likely to be delivered in practice.

This session will explore whether high level principles can provide a clearer and more practical first-pass test of transition-plan credibility. Drawing on the forthcoming second edition of the Oxford Martin Principles for Climate Conscious Investment, the discussion will examine three core conditions for credible transition planning: commitment to net zero, a viable net zero business model, and quantitative medium-term targets.
