Rabab works as the Assistant Manager, Carbon Capture for the International Air Transport Association (IATA), leading research, strategy, and advocacy on the use of carbon capture, utilization and storage and carbon dioxide removal technologies for decarbonizing the air transportation industry. Her interests include quantifying carbon sequestration occurring over the life cycle of conventional jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel and supporting the development of policy frameworks and carbon accounting methods to allow these emissions reductions to be recognized. She is also involved in advocacy for harmonized policies enabling the scale-up of supply of carbon dioxide removals for air transport and the development of appropriate carbon accounting frameworks.
Rabab is currently a nominated expert to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Committee for Environmental Protection (CAEP), where she sits in the Working Group 5 (Fuels) and the Long Term Monitoring and Reporting Task Group. She received her Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
