Job opening: Executive Officer, Impact and Engagement (now closed)

Jun 25, 2026

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOW CLOSED.

Oxford Net Zero is seeking an organised and proactive Executive Officer to support its policy engagement and impact activities focused on corporate climate action, accountability, and net zero governance. Reporting to the Head of Policy Engagement, Kaya Axelsson, the postholder will play a central role in coordinating stakeholder engagement, managing networks, and supporting initiatives that translate academic research into high-integrity climate action and policy.

The role combines executive support, stakeholder management, event coordination, and campaign administration. You will manage a complex diary and engagement schedule, coordinate relationships across NGOs, businesses, governments, philanthropy, standards bodies, and civil society organisations, and help deliver a programme of meetings, workshops, webinars, and multi-stakeholder convenings. You will also prepare briefing materials, track actions and outcomes, support strategic outreach, and contribute to professional communications and engagement materials.

This position would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders, and has a strong interest in climate policy, corporate climate accountability, and collaborative approaches to change. The role offers opportunities to develop expertise in net zero governance and to contribute to work that informs international debates on credible corporate climate action.

We are seeking candidates with excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, together with experience coordinating projects, events, networks, or partnerships. The ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work independently while supporting a wider team is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme operating at the intersection of research, policy, business, and civil society.

This post is fixed term until 30 April 2027 and offered on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours). The application deadline is 12pm BST on 23 July 2026.
