Tom has spent over twenty years investing in companies across the natural resources industry, with a particular focus on the energy sector. Until July 2024 he was Head of Thematic Equity at Ninety One, a global investment manager with over £125 billion in assets under management, and he was AAA-rated by Citywire. Before this Tom was Head of Natural Resources, and part of the Sustainability leadership team at Ninety One. Prior to his twelve years at Ninety One he was a Portfolio Manager at Guinness Global Investors with a focus on the energy sector. Tom has published multiple papers on the energy transition and has led research programmes and executive education on climate risk, transition plans, and how institutional investors can build resilient portfolios. He holds an MA in Modern Languages (French and German) from the University of Oxford.
